After updating the USE!UMBS package I noticed that the package index at
http://svardos.org/?p=repo is not updated. Also, there are several "internal server errors". For example when trying to access the RSS feed

Did I break anything, or was it broken before?
No worries, you did not break anything, it was certainly broken already :)
Long story short: a couple of weeks ago I moved everything to a new VPS with a newer OS, newer PHP versions, larger disk etc - I checked all basic stuff and fixed a few minor website issues , but it is likely that I missed some details. I'll look into the things you mentioned and will get back here with an update.

Fixed, I think. Turned out to be relatively easy issues:
- The packages index was not being updated because my new VPS was missing "php-zip", which the repo-updating php script needs to look into package files.
- The websvn frontend works again - it wasn't working also because of a missing php dependency (php-xml).
Perfect, package index seems to be up to date now :)
